Book Three available for pre-order!

I am extremely pleased to announce that the final book in my Theft and Sorcery trilogy, The Coup, is now available for pre-order. The official publication date is the 1st of May, but you can order it now and it will be automatically delivered to your Kindle on the publication date.

UK readers can pre-order here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00W5W2L4O

US readers can pre-order here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W5W2L4O

3.5

It is also available on all other Amazon sites. I would really appreciate it if people could spread the word, and if I get a decent number of pre-orders I might even get into the charts! (Even if that will probably be the Romance > Fantasy > Espionage chart which only has ten books in it, or something.)

In addition to this, to celebrate the release of this final part of the trilogy, the first book (The Ritual) will be available for FREE from 28 April to 2 May, and the second book (The Conspiracy) will be discounted during the same period. Links to both books can be found in the top right hand corner of this site.

Thank you for your attention/help/custom. If you go on to read my book, I sincerely hope you will enjoy it.

Portraits

If any of you are following the blog of my friend and editor Hillary, you’ll have noticed her recent post where she went wild on an Anime portrait generator. Now, I am not particularly obsessive about creating portraits for my characters, but I do like the overall look of anime, and there is something inherently pleasing about pissing about with mouths, eyes, clothes and – best of all – hairstyles, so I had a go as well.

Before I show you the result, however, I must mention that I possess some excellent portraits of all my main characters, which I commissioned from an extremely talented Norwegian artist called Linn Standal. You can check out her art on deviantart, tumblr or visit her portrait adoption page.

Title envy

I have mentioned before that I am terrible at thinking up titles, as is probably evident from the rather bland titles of my novels. I am envious of people like my friend Hillary, who doesn’t just come up with kick-ass titles for her books, but manages to name every chapter as well. If I had to do that I’d probably end up curled up in a corner, weeping quietly. So today’s entry in my 26-Week Book Challenge is one where my own work will never merit even an honorary mention: my favourite title.

My review of 2013

I know, I’m a little bit late with this, but frankly, I couldn’t be arsed to do this sooner. Monday is my regular post day, so today you shall have my review of the year just past.

I’ll try to split this into three parts: my year of reading, my year of writing, and my personal life in 2013. I’m leaving the personal stuff for last, for those of you who get bored easily.

Update on the WiP

So, since this will be my last proper post for the year (I’ve got one more review to link to, but that’s not a proper post) I figured I’d give an update on my Work in Progress. My hope was that I would have the first draft of book three done by the end of the year, but that’s absolutely not going to happen.

It’s not a project lost though. I have seven chapters finished and hope to have chapter eight done before I break up for Christmas. It is very much a first draft right now and will probably get some extensive rewriting, but that’s a worry for later.
